Epsom Salt & It’s Benefits

Epsom salt looks similar to the salt in your kitchen, however it is a different chemical compound. It is made up of sulfur, magnesium, and oxygen.

What Is It Used For?

Epsom salt is mostly used to relieve sore muscles and it also helps to ease the mind. It is completely safe and gentle on the skin and very easy to use. In addition it also helps those who struggle with conditions such as fibromyalgia, insomnia, and psoriasis.

How Is Epsom Salt Used?

There are a few ways it can be used, one of the basic ways is in baths. When used in the bath it dissolves in the water. The purpose of using this process is that your skin absorbs the particles, supplying you with magnesium and sulfate which benefits many of your bodily functions.

Epsom salt baths are great at helping to relieve sore muscles after a workout, tired feet, sprains, bruises and so much more. It is a great home treatment alternative that benefits your skin and body.

Epsom Salt As A Laxative

You can also use it for constipation, if you struggle from constipation it acts as a great laxative. Taking a bath helps to relieve the muscles but it can also be taken through the mouth. It is a more kinder and gentle laxative for the body than stimulant laxatives.

Make sure to follow dosage guidelines when consuming Epsom salts as they are different for adults and children.

Epsom salt can also be used as an exfoliant for hair and skin. It helps cleanse pores, making it fitting as a face wash. If used in hair it adds volume and conditions hair.

Although some people have proved the uses & benefits of Epsom salts for beauty, not many studies have confirmed the benefits work for everyone.
